One of Daylesford Rotary's newest members, Andrew Littlejohn, shares his story ...

"I was Born 1960, and my parents were both academics. I grew up mostly in Camberwell except for a couple of stints in the USA when my father was working at the University of Texas and University of Michigan. I have a brother who has a PhD in Molecular Genetics and now works for IBM.

I have 3 children, Abi an accountant, Hannah a post graduate student and Archie, a first-year university student.

My partner Anne and I have been together for 9 years and we moved to Daylesford with an eye to eventual retirement up here whilst spending as much time as we could up here in the interim.

I originally studied electrical engineering at the University of Melbourne, then worked for a few years as an engineer. From engineering moved into sales and marketing, mostly in product management working for ICT companies which I did for the next 30 or so years.

Over those years I studied part time and completed amongst other qualifications a business degree and a Master of Professional Accounting. Companies I worked for include NEC, Fujitsu, MYOB and Telstra. I left Telstra in 2019. After leaving Telstra I worked for a midsized accounting firm for 12 months to gain experience and now am a registered BAS Agent.

My passions include art, listening to jazz and cycling. I used to enjoy rock climbing, some mountaineering and running. I was introduced into art in 2012 when Anne and I completed a CAE mosaic course. I loved it and that led to water colour and oil painting. I attend classes at the Victorian Artists Society every week and show in various exhibitions.

I currently enjoying Rotary and the chance to get to know compatible local people and give something back to the community as well."
